Air Canada as the flag carrier of the Canada was created by legislation of Canadian Federal Government. Founded on the 11th of April 1937. The airline was created purposely to be under control of the Canadian Government to be intertwined the Atlantic Coast and the Pacific coast.

Currently he also serves as the Chairman of the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board.

The 55 year old Romanian Chief Executive of Air Canada finished his law degree at University of Ottawa where he also finished his Doctorate degree in law. Rovinescu has an impressive career and track record before leading the ninth-largest passenger airline in the world.

Reviews about Air Canada is divided into negative and positive. It is noteworthy that a lot of customer feedback refers to the good quality of the customer service of the crew, some even said “..flight with them and the staff, service and aircraft were exceptional.” and “being treated extra special” this feedback falls under the quality of service that the flight staff provides. But despite these positive reviews, some still believe that Air Canada is “extremely cramped, uncomfortable”. Some customers expressed their displeasure with the quality of service Air Canada provided and, vowed not to fly with them anymore.

Air Canada understands the special attention needed by deaf people. That’s why they allotted a special toll free hotline for hearing impaired people, that can be seen on their website. They also provide additional information like email service and ChatDesk for further customer concern.

Many customers complain about the unpleasant treatment of Air Canada customer representatives. TripAdvor.com received an overwhelming rants from reviewers like “I am sick of these airlines who just treat customers without any effort” and “Never dealt with such rude phone reps in my life”. Poor customer service function is the main problem customers fulminate on online reviews about Air Canada.

Conclusion

It is safe to say that Air Canada is one of the pillars in the Airline industry today. Considering the impressive history of the company, the advantage they have because of the number of their fleet, that can almost cover the north american region and other regions. But still if we’re talking about customer feedback Air Canada still needs to improve their customer service function.
