Air New Zealand is helmed by native Christopher Luxon, born in 1970 in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was officially founded on April 26, 1940, from Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL). Prior to his appointment as CEO of the company on January 1, 2013, Mr. Luxon was one of its Group General Managers.
