How People see Opodo
On the negative side, Opodo has garnered a reputation for brushing off complaints by their customers. Apparently, when things take a turn for the worse, a company’s ability to deal with the problem is tested and more often than not, Opodo usually fails in this arena. Most of its critics blame its sheer size; perhaps the scope of its service makes it ignore the equally important details. Not to mention the average rating of 2 out of 5 for Opodo’s United Kingdom and Denmark sites according to Trustpilot.
The main issue that grieves people is its customer service. Furthermore, their employees can’t communicate that well in English and they have distinct office hours that makes it hard for customers to actually get through.Opodo does make amends, but these issues should have been addressed more efficiently so that they wouldn’t have had escalated.

The great thing about Opodo is its notable hotel and car arrangement scheme, which can be accomplished by clicking on links on the upper right hand of their website. Another thing worth mentioning is Opodo’s low-looking airfare: from 30 Euros above you can book a flight to most European destinations of your liking such as Lisbon, Rome and Paris. Obviously, farther off countries are more costly and play at the deal that we are accustomed with.
Their website interface is easy to navigate; one can imagine finding exactly what one needs in the least time and still be satisfied. Air fares are displayed next a country with its picture and not to disappoint, the deals are rather attractive. Refunds and other changes to booking have their own instruction on the site while checking in online is for Opodo-listed airlines which have their online check in systems available by a click on a link on Opodo.

Save 10 pounds when you book on their Android app! Their official website is “growing” and they offer a “getaway for less” for their customers. Basically, their site is pretty straightforward and interesting-looking but this also communicates if what they offer is too good to be true.
How Opodo Deals with its Clients
The Opodo Newsletter you sign up for is extremely informative and rewarding with perks available only to its subscribers. Chat support and call centres are offered yet complaints abound regarding Opodo being “unreachable on the phone” which probably contributed significantly to its poor reputation in review circles. The main method of contacting them is through a 3,000-character e-mail message in which you add your departure date and booking number along with other pertinent information.

Again, problems in communication are here as with most travel agencies. Others usually have a problem with what they call “impossible” customer contact hours that aren’t conducive to actually getting a resolution, thereby leaving people frustrated. They’re pretty much disappointed that Opodo doesn’t fully size up to its shortcomings as customers treat it as an online travel agency and nothing less.
Opodo’s travel websites are available in these European countries: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland and the last four countries also have a Travellink branded website on top of it. Travellink is a subsidiary of Opodo.
According to Glassdoor.com, Opodo has around 150-499 employees and an annual turnover from 100 million to 500 million dollars. For 2015, Opodo has been a World Travel Awards nominee for Europe’s Leading Online Travel Agency and World’s Leading Online Travel Agency.

Under the credibility of CEO Javier Perez-Tenessa de Block, Opodo has a lot of things going on for it. It has a great, easy-to-understand website and relatively simple processes that one feels that they are getting the deal of their life or at least, a stress-free booking. But one shouldn’t be blinded too much by this introduction into their world. Most agencies have their weaknesses and despite Opodo being Pan-European, its employees face communication problems. However minor this is in general, no one wants to see a company falling short when it has a lot of other strong points.
